Join your Sarasota-Bradenton Young Republicans in Manatee County on Tuesday, June 3rd for our June Social with Featured Speaker: Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells!
Sheriff Wells has led the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office since January 2017 and is currently serving his third term. A Florida native, and longtime law enforcement professional, he spent 21 years with the Florida Highway Patrol—rising to sergeant—then served as Palmetto Police Chief from 2010 to 2015. He earned an Associate’s in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern University and participated in the Command Officer Management Program at Saint Leo University. Under his leadership, the agency has focused on community engagement, proactive patrol strategies, and adapting to rapid growth in the county.
